New s oftware sol ves tech ical l imitatio s, but the real issue is ot software, but rather the provisio of a supportive framework withi which peopl e ca express a d exper ime t with ideas. FLORES, the Forest La d Orie ted Resour ce E visio i g System, provides such a framework to stimul ate i terdiscipl i ary col l aboratio betwee r esearchers, practitio ers a d cl ie ts. A rece t pro totype demo strated the feasibil ity of FLORES. However, FLORES is ot about software; it is about providi g t he mea s to expl ore the co seque ces of al ter ative sc e arios. Ul timatel y, FLORES is ot a physical packa ge, but a user group a d the i teractio s they have amo gst t hemsel ves, a d with the peopl e i vol ved i pol icy-m aki g.
