Biography & Interests

I received my Ph.D. and D.I.C. degrees in performance monitoring of communication networks from Imperial College London, London, U.K., in 2003. I am currently full professor and graduate coordinator in the department of computing, electronics and mechatronics at the Universidad de las Americas Puebla, Mexico. I have supervised several theses and taught courses at undergraduate, master and doctoral level in areas related to communication networks and signal processing. I have authored over 100 research articles in several refereed journals and conference proceedings, have written a research monograph on MPLS networks, and have over 100 citations to my research articles. My current research interests include security in communication networks, wavelet theory applied to performance monitoring of communication networks, intrusion detection, wavelet-based signal & image processing, and path restoration in MPLS networks. I have been active in program committees for international conferences and have also served as manuscript reviewer for numerous refereed journals. I am a member of IEEE and belongs to the Mexican National System of Researchers (Level I).

My current research interests include security in communication networks, wavelet theory applied to performance monitoring of communication networks, intrusion detection, wavelet-based signal & image processing, and path restoration in MPLS networks.
